Supervises nursing areas with consideration for safety in all aspects of patient care and employee working conditions.
Provides and seeks guidance as necessary in legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strives to manage situations in a reduced risk manner. Leads and participates in various levels of committees, meetings and continuous quality improvement. Participates in development and compliance of policies and all applicable standards for the Department of Nursing as established by regulatory agencies.
Promotes staff development, encourages learning, and assists personnel in meeting goals and objectives. Determines staffing requirements and as appropriate, collaborates with directors and staffing office to ensure staffing levels for all levels. Mentors, develops and trains new staff and students.
Serves as population newborn through geriatric Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values. Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI). Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Required License/Certifications/Registrations Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas. Current BLS card within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first.
Acceptable courses are American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Preferred Education and Experience BSN. Previous supervisor/management experience. Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations None Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Ability to apply the basic principles of nursing.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Keyboarding skills and basic computer skills. Physical
