As an Outpatient Pharmacist, a caregiver in this role will support the outpatient pharmacy serving Akron ENT by filling and verifying prescriptions, conducting chart reviews, managing inventory and supporting daily pharmacy operations.
The caregiver will work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to ensure safe, efficient medication dispensing and provide high-quality service to patients and caregivers. This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position will work a minimum commitment of one shift every four weeks.
A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide pharmacy services and ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders. Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based medication services. Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
Contribute to medication safety initiatives. Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences. Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients. Be accountable for drug use policy adherence.
for the ideal future caregiver include: PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations within 90 days of hire for those administering immunizations
for the ideal future caregiver include: Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area Board Certification Physical
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
Must have normal or corrected vision.
