We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Pediatric Inpatient Transplant Surgery team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital on a PRN basis. This position provides the opportunity to work alongside a nationally recognized multidisciplinary transplant team caring for pediatric patients before and after solid organ transplantation. Position Highlights PRN inpatient position caring for pediatric transplant surgery patients Rotating PRN schedule with weekday, weekend, holiday, and overnight coverage opportunities Manage pediatric transplant patients throughout the inpatient continuum, including pre-operative evaluation, post-operative care, and long-term transplant management Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care Collaborate closely with transplant surgeons, pediatric specialists, pharmacists, nurses, and ancillary staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes Opportunity to care for patients undergoing liver, kidney, intestinal, and multi-organ transplantation at a nationally recognized transplant center Participate in patient and family education to support successful transplant recovery and lifelong care Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program NCCPA certification (PA) or national board certification (NP) Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia Prior inpatient experience required; transplant surgery, pediatric surgery, critical care, or surgical specialty experience preferred Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills As a MedStar Health Advanced Practice Provider, you can expect: Competitive PRN compensation Collaborative, physician-led transplant team Opportunity to work at one of the nation's leading academic transplant centers Access to the resources of one of the largest healthcare systems in the region A culture committed to clinical excellence, innovation, and exceptional patient care Become part of an organization that is transforming transplant care while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.
