We are currently hiring for a Radiation Therapist at our Charleston, WV facility. This will be a Full Time position. Charleston offers small city charm with big outdoor adventure - from local restaurants and live music downtown to hiking, rafting and exploring!

Our Radiation Therapist use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at easeSpecific duties include, but are not limited to:Delivers radiation treatment according to written prescription and treatment plan, under the guidance and mentorship of an RT, Senior RT or Lead RT. Ensures safety in patient care through the consistent practice of departmental procedures for treatment administration.

Treatment delivery includes identifying correct patient, escorting patient to treatment room, assisting patient onto the treatment table, positions patient for treatment, delivers radiation from the control room and assists the patient in exiting the treatment room. Provides and ensures an environment of caring, concern and support for patients, visitors, medical staff and co-workers on a consistent basis. Assures the quality of treatment delivery through the complete and accuratedocumentation of treatment records.

Recognizes deviation from prescribedtreatment delivery and reports all deviations to their RT mentor, Lead Therapist and/or Physicist. Uses effective communication techniques and interpersonal skills to provideexplanations for treatment-related procedures. Explains treatment procedures to patient and/or family.

Refers medical questions to appropriate personnel. Responds effectively to patient concerns. Observes patients for expected and unexpected reactions to treatments and communicates this to appropriate staff members.

Reinforces patient education/side effect management information and indicates non-compliance to medical/nursing staff. Observes and learns how to effectively perform patient simulations at the request of physician. Collects and documents data acquired during the simulation procedure.

Accurately inputs treatment-related data into the EMR. Makes any appropriate patient–centric recommendations to the appropriate clinical team member. Assists as needed in all treatment-related procedures, including transporting patients, reviewing charts, and ordering supplies.

Demonstrates the ability to recognize standard imaging / ARGT; and make the necessary to adjustments to insure high quality treatment. Performs and documents daily and weekly QA checklist. Notifies appropriate clinical team members and documents of findings outside the normal range of operations.

Participates in programs to measure and improve the quality of care within the Department. Captures and verifies patient treatment charges. Position

Associate's Degree or Certificate from College or Technical School required. ARRT(T) required or in the process to obtain ARRT(T) certification preferred. Note: If individual is not currently registered by the ARRT in Radiation Therapy , Temporary State License will be accepted in lieu of ARRT(T) with the condition that certification through the ARRT will be obtained within one year of hire or title change.

CPR Certification required. Preferred
