You’ll need
Licensure
✓If working in a New York facility, candidates must: • Hold certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). • Maintain licensure through the New York State Department of Health.
✓Technologists practicing under a temporary permit: • Must work under the direct supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist. • Must obtain ARRT certification within 180 days of the permit issue date. • Temporary permits expire 180 days from issuance, upon notice that a license application has
Certifications
✓Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
✓Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.
✓Technologist cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT has been obtained.
✓ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist required.
✓Must obtain ARRT Radiography Registry within 6 months of hire date for Diagnostic Technologists hired on or after January 1, 2025.
✓Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, must obtain ARRT Registry within 12 months of hire or transfer date.
✓CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
✓CPR certification must meet American Heart Association (AHA) standards and include both didactic and skills demonstration components within 30 days of hire.
