The Medical Oncology Nurse provides specialized care to cancer patients by administering treatments, monitoring progress, managing side effects, and offering emotional support. In collaboration with other healthcare professionals the Medical Oncology Nurse helps develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional conditionsMonitor vital signs, lab results, and other relevant dataAdminister chemotherapy and other cancer treatments as prescribedProvide direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and other nursing interventionsAssist with procedures and treatmentsCollaborate with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plansEducate patients and families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and potential side effectsAdvocate for patients' needs and preferencesEnsure continuity of care throughout the treatment processProvide emotional support and guidance to patients and their familiesHelp patients understand their treatment plan and manage side effectsRefer patients and families to appropriate resources and support servicesAddress patients' concerns and questionsMaintain accurate and up-to-date patient recordsDocument patient assessments, treatments, and progressParticipates in educational activity related to job function annually and provides documented evidence of attendance or activity to supervisorCommunicate effectively with other healthcare professionalsParticipate in research and clinical trialsParticipates in Operational/Regulatory activitiesContribute to the implementation of nursing protocols and guidelinesStay current with the latest advancements in oncology careEmployee is responsible for completing 12 oncology specific CNE's annually.

(36 CNE's are required every 3 years to meet the Commission on Cancer guidelines from date of hire) CNE's are tracked by the employees nursing supervisorPerforms similar or related duties as requested or directed • Performs other duties as requested and observed by supervisor or manager What we need from youEducation:2 Year/Associate Degree in Nursing, required4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred***All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire.

BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN’s licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirementExperience:Minimum 1 year RN experience, requiredMinimum 1 year experience in Oncology, preferredLicense/ Certification:NYS Licensure as a Registered Nurse, requiredBLS Certification within 30 days from date of hire, requiredONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration, preferredOCN Certification, preferredValid NYS Driver's License, preferredSkills:Analysis & EvaluationClinical SkillsMulti-TaskingInteracting with PeopleTechnical SkillsCommunicationPhysical

The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

Minimum:USD $79,540.97/Yr.

Maximum:USD $120,369.60/Yr.
