You’ll need
Licensure
✓Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
✓Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
Certifications
✓Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
✓Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Education
✓All associate degree or diploma registered nurses hired into the Department of Nursing with a RN start date after April 1, 2020, must provide documented evidence of program completion of their baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within 5 years from the last day
✓All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.
✓Graduate of a nursing program
✓Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
✓Qualified applicants must live within a reasonable driving distance to campus to meet 45-minute on-call requirement
✓Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
✓Experience working in a team environment.
✓Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
✓Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.
✓Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
✓Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.
One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is preferred.

About the role
The RN in the Operating Room circulates and coordinates the surgical team in all aspects of OR activities, providing for optimum perioperative nursing care to patients. The OR RN may be asked to scrub as needed. Functions as the patient's advocate.
