Registered Nurse (RN) GI GU Surgical UnitBring your passion to Texas Health where we are Better+Together Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104Work hours: Full Time, (3) 12 hour shifts 6:45p-7:15a - Rotating Weekends/Holidays; Team members may be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts in response to census fluctuations. Department highlights: · Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth · Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team · The unit will initially open with 20 beds, with plans to expand to the full 36 beds later in the year. · The General Surgical Nurse provides care to a wide variety of post op patients including: complex gastro-intestinal, urology and colorectal surgeries with an average length of stay of approximately five days. · Opportunity to work on a brand- new unit in the beautiful Justin Tower · MAGNET facility · Level I Trauma Center Here’s What You Need: · Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required · BSN preferred · Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required · BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required · CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire · 1-year experience as a registered nurse or the completion of an RN Residency program · 2+ years med surg experience as an RN in acute care setting preferred.

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process · Assesses the patient · Plans the care of the patient · Intervenes as appropriate · Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions · Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care. · Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information · Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
