About the Department: The Intensive Care Unit is a 10-bed unit with a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio for most patients. For patients that require more support, such as those who have paralysis, are on continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), have a Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device (Impella) or intra-aortic balloon pump, we have a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
In our unit, you'll broaden your nursing skills and experience a diverse range of cases, as we care for all types of ICU-level patients. This includes post-neurosurgical patients, those with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), post-cardiac arrest cases, sepsis, and patients with liver or kidney failure. Uses a systematic process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation in delivery of care by collaborating with the patient, family and interdisciplinary team through care plans. Communicates patient needs and changes in condition to physician, team members and/or family as necessary. Provides compassionate care for patients during challenging periods or transitions in life or lifecycles with respect and dignity. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Required
