Job OverviewFairview is looking for a Registered Nurse in the ICU at Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN.

This role is a .6 FTE (48 hours every 2 weeks) working 12-hour night shifts, with every third weekend rotation. Variable weekday schedule. Night shift is 1900-0730.

Located in Wyoming, Minnesota, Lakes is conveniently situated just off I-35—approximately 30 minutes north of the Twin Cities, making it an easy commute from the metro while serving a growing surrounding community. Free parking is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. About this Unit: The Lakes ICU is a 10-bed intensive care unit supported by onsite hospitalist physicians and 24/7 Intensivist/Tele-ICU coverage through the Fairview health system.

ICU nurses care for a diverse patient population with conditions including sepsis, respiratory failure, endocrine disorders, cardiac and surgical patients, orthopedics, and withdrawal or overdose presentations. Caring for these complex patients requires continuous hemodynamic monitoring, advanced medication management, sharp clinical judgment, and strong interdisciplinary communication. While the work is fast-paced and highly technical, Lakes is known for its strong teamwork, high employee engagement, exceptional patient satisfaction, and the close-knit feel of a community hospital.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes. Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of careDevelops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs. Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.

Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health careDemonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
