Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical PCU – Full-time, 7PBring your passion to Texas Health so we are better + togetherWork location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am Department highlights:28-bed Medical PCU departmentIntermediate level of care to a wide variety of medical patients at a 3:1 patient to nurse ratio. This patient population requiring specialized monitoring and interventions, includes patient diagnosis such as: diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), respiratory compromised patients that require specialized equipment including continuous respiratory interventions, home ventilation systems, and tracheostomy care, multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, hematology, GI Bleeds, Renal/Liver Failure, Acid-Base and Electrolyte Imbalances, and cardiac abnormalities. Medication management includes continuous and titratable IV medications to support the intermediate care population. MAGNET facilityLevel I Trauma Center Primary Heart Attack Center PHACThe department prides itself in high performing staff with excellent critical thinking skillsSelf-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growthRobust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership teamHere’s What You Need Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferredCurrent RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hireBCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterlyACLS – within 90 days of hire requiredCPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program requiredPCU experience preferred – will consider Tele and Med/Surg experience In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN willdemonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patientspossess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalismhave basic computer skills using medical management application systemsWhat You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
