More about our team The Same Day Surgery Center at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a supportive and stable work environment, caring for a variety of patients across the life span. This 15- Surgical Suite unit features self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work-life balance.
Nurses in this unit benefit from a collaborative team culture, and the opportunity to gain diverse clinical experience. 12 Hour Shifts Self- Scheduling 15- Surgical Suite How you’ll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation). Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
Assesses learning needs and delivers age/culture-appropriate patient/family education. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Participates in performance improvement and required continuing education.
Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may take on-call assignments. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include: Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required.
If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
One year of Outpatient Surgery RN experience required.
