In this role, you'll play an important part in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders by performing comprehensive sleep studies, monitoring patients throughout testing, and collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff. Perform comprehensive overnight sleep studies in accordance with physician orders and department protocolsAssess patients, obtain sleep histories, and complete required documentationApply and monitor sleep testing equipment, ensuring accurate data collectionScore sleep studies and assist with test interpretation processesAdminister and monitor CPAP, BiPAP, and oxygen therapy as orderedMonitor patient oxygen saturation levels and identify potential therapy-related concernsMaintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic medical recordVerify orders, diagnoses, and testing requirementsTroubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as neededPerform equipment cleaning, maintenance, and sterilization according to department guidelinesCollaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient careMaintain required certifications, competencies, and continuing education requirementsQualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED or graduate of an accredited Polysomnography ProgramRegistered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certificationAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hirePreferredSix months of polysomnography or sleep lab experienceExperience performing and scoring sleep studiesKnowledge of CPAP, BiPAP, and oxygen therapy modalitiesStrong critical thinking, communication, and patient care skillsBenefits IncludeMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Starting Day OneGenerous Paid Time Off401(k) with Employer MatchTuition ReimbursementCareer Growth and Advancement OpportunitiesPaid Parental LeaveSupportive Team EnvironmentJoin Mercy Hospital South and help improve the lives of patients through high-quality sleep medicine care.
