Respiratory Care Assistant- Per Diem Variable

Maintains an adequate amount of supplies, medication, and medical gas tanks within the department. Takes care of accumulating dirty equipment and the processing of equipment. Administers medications via nebulizer, as well as, participate in other forms of intermittent non-invasive patient care.

In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Maintains adequate amounts of supplies needed for the departmentPicks up dirty equipment and then processes them to maintain an adequate supply of clean, ready to use equipmentPerforms testing of Cidex and\or other solutions utilized by the departmentAdministers continuous oxygen and continuous bland aerosol therapy per department guidelinesDoes not participate in invasive procedures (Intubations) or critical care (mechanical ventilation)Instruct patients in the use and performance of Incentive SpirometryPerforms CPT per department guidelinesCharges for all services provided inclusive of use of BCX systemPerforms Arterial puncturesOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent requiredRegistration with the NCRCB as an RCA requiredEnrolled student in good standing of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program requiredWork
