✓Active licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire (RCA)
Certifications
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS), if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 6 months of employment and maintained
✓Advance Life Support Certification (ACLS), if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 12 months of Employment and Maintained
Education
✓Over 1 year active student in a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program
Qualifications
✓The educational institution will verify that the student is in good standing and has successfully completed a competency evaluation that certifies the student to be competent in Respiratory Care Procedures as defined by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board.
✓2nd year Respiratory student (senior)
✓To remain in good standing with the State Board and to continue as a Respiratory Care Assistant, a minimum grade of at least 2.0 in all RCP courses, and an overall average of 2.0 must be maintained.
✓The educational institution also will verify that the student has successfully completed a competency evaluation that certifies the student to be competent in the following Respiratory Care Procedures:
✓Oxygen Supply Systems
✓Equipment Processing
✓Manual Resuscitation
✓Oxygen Administration
✓Humidity And Aerosol Therapy
✓Small Volume Nebulizer Therapy
✓MDI Administration
