Job Overview: The Lead/Charge Therapist is responsible for assigning staff to various care areas, for addressing clinical and operational situations as they arise, and for maintaining Department performance standards, reporting performance and behavioral issues.
The Lead/Charge RCP is a liaison to the Nursing Department and Medical staff and a resource to the Respiratory staff members. The Charge RCP delivers clinical patient care, as needed, during the course of their normal responsibilities
Required: Active NJ Respiratory Therapist (RT) License Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Adult Critical Care Certification (ACCS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Assist the Department Educator in orientation of new employees. Ensures all new employees are oriented to the shift including responsibilities and duties. Will demonstrate and observe procedures in various units and assure the new employee’s understanding.
Completes chart reviews, QA/PI reviews and other assigned tasks in a timely manner. Participates in planning for Department services. Accepts assigned tasks and obtains results.
