Akron General’s 5100 Unit is a 23-bed post-op urology, gynecology/oncology and plastics unit that provides care to diverse populations of patients. This team of caregivers pride themselves on providing top-quality and patient-centered care all while ensuring the safety of their patients. As an RN on the team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Here, you can take advantage of industry-leading benefits, grow your nursing skills with each interaction and have the chance to move into leadership positions down the line. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM, including 3 holidays per year. No weekends. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population. Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately. Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in care and serve as a patient advocate. Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document. Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient / family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process. Delegate tasks, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.
