You’ll need
Licensure
✓Currently licensed as an RN in the State of Maryland.
✓Currently licensed as an FNE-A. Certification in BCLS is required.
Certifications
✓Additional certification and training as determined by department per job task list.
Education
✓Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Currently licensed as an RN in the State of Maryland. Currently licensed as an FNE-A. Certification in BCLS is required. Additional certification and training as determined by department per job task list.
Qualifications
✓Work Orientation & Experience : Orientation based on experience level and determined by unit.
✓Ability to: a) convey effective verbal and written communications
✓utilize basic assessment and critical thinking skills
✓organize and manage time effectively setting appropriate priorities
✓make independent decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards including the standards as outlined for the FNE
✓hours of availability to include on-call time to meet coverage needs including all shifts
✓effectively function as a member of a collaborative team
✓respond to sexual assault situations appropriately
✓adhere to standards of behavior and support the Culture of Excellence.
✓Uses assessment techniques and equipment appropriate to age, size of patient, and according to reported assault.
✓Collection, preparation, and submission of forensic evidence or photography, if indicated by reported event.
✓Gives explanation for procedures, prior to performing such, using communication appropriate to age and development stage of patient.
✓Maintains contact hours (8) in a related field through continuing education.
✓Attends staff meetings and Harford Sexual Assault Response Team, as requested and as available.
