You’ll need
Certifications
✓Incident Command System (I.C.S.) Certifications 100, 200, 700 and 800 required within 90 days of hire.
✓Current DPSST Private Security Professional certification required within 90 days of hire.
Education
✓High school diploma or equivalent required.
✓Two (2) years college level course work in a related field plus one (1) year security and/or law enforcement experience.
Qualifications
✓Current valid Oregon driver's license preferred, but not required for all applicants.
✓Employee must have a valid driver's license and auto liability/property damage insurance as required by law and must maintain their vehicle in good working order.
✓If the employee is driving SHS vehicles, then successful completion of Drivers Privileges for SHS Vehicles application process required.
✓Two (2) years security and/or law enforcement experience.
✓Experience with security equipment (access control, video surveillance, mass notification) required.
✓Adaptability / Flexibility – Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations that may arise with the high risk or diverse patient populations. Ability to adjust actions in relation to others and adapt to offer best possible care to patients.
✓Stress tolerance and Self Control – Ability to maintain patience and composure, control emotions, set clear boundaries and moderate high stress, difficult situations.
✓Time management – ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.
✓Problem Solving – Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, employ creativity and alternative thinking to develop and evaluate options to implement solutions.
✓Communication – Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information and understand complex information and ideas.
✓Compliance – Ability to evaluate information to determine compliance with laws, regulations or standards. Use knowledge and judgment skills to determine whether events or processes comply.
✓Knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS) and of DPSST Private Security requirements.
Experience with computer applications (including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) preferred.
Experience in de-escalation preferred.
Experience writing policy and procedure documents preferred.
Experience working with mental health subjects preferred.
Experience in DNV, CMS, HIPPA/Privacy and NFPA preferred.
