The Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Clinic is seeking an experienced Sonographer II to support the delivery of advanced intestinal ultrasound (IUS) services as a point-of-care diagnostic tool. This position plays a key role in a multidisciplinary specialty care team focused on providing timely, patient-centered care for individuals with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The Sonographer II will perform intestinal ultrasound examinations that assist providers with disease diagnosis, evaluation of symptoms and disease activity, therapeutic monitoring, assessment of treatment response, and identification of disease progression or flare activity.
The sonographer will work closely with IBD physicians who will interpret findings and incorporate results into clinical decision-making. Work

Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality. Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards. Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results. Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented. Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated. Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks. Administers medical aid as required for any emergency situation.
Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases Assists in supervision of student sonographers and training of new sonographers. Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. Ensures safety of all customers.
Assists with directing daily workflow. Orients and precepts staff. Participates on committees.
Maintains punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and educational requirements. Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation.
Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment. Maintains well stocked and organized work areas May be required to work at any facility Provides patient transport. Qualifications Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines Required 1 Year of experience in sonography.
Knowledge of routine and complex ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, breast localization, and knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography. Routinely demonstrates competency in performing ultrasound examinations pertinent to department. ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Required and Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate Required and Maintains RDMS physics registry and a minimum of two ARDMS registries pertinent to department Required.
