You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in the state where the facility is located, or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with that state.
Certifications
✓Annual completion of one professional contribution aligned with department, hospital, or system goals and approved by the Unit Director through UPMC's My Nursing Career Ladder or certification.
✓Certification is not required for nurses who hold a Master's degree in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) .
✓Licensure, Certifications & Clearances
✓CPR certification required within 30 days of hire and must meet American Heart Association (AHA) standards, including both didactic and hands-on skills demonstration components.
Education
BSN preferred.
Qualifications
✓Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients served on the assigned unit.
✓Applies principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
✓Assesses and interprets patient data to identify and meet age-specific patient needs in accordance with department policies and procedures.
✓Demonstrates exemplary clinical judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
✓Establishes and maintains positive, caring relationships with patients, families, physicians, leaders, providers, support staff, and other departments.
✓Works effectively in a complex environment while managing multiple priorities and specialized equipment.
✓Possesses the mobility, visual/manual dexterity, and physical stamina required for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
✓Act 34 clearance
