The Senior QI Compliance Specialist is responsible for leading, training, and providing guidance to the QI team in addition to performing provider audits with a focus on physician education, meeting regulatory guidelines, and ensuring compliant and accurate documentation and coding. They work closely with both QI and Coding teams to ensure correct, compliant professional coding across the Baptist Health system. They develop training tools and serve as consultants to clinical staff and managers, which may include leading coding workshops and training sessions.
They manage the prioritization of audits and education provided by fellow QI Specialists, and hold a leadership position among the team. They are an advanced user of the Auditing Software with the ability to train fellow users, in addition to being highly knowledgeable of the Epic system. They assist with the creation of templates and other forms as necessary to assist both providers and coding staff in proper documentation and coding.
They are highly communicative, with the innate ability to educate providers and staff on all aspects of documentation guidelines and correct coding. Other information: 7+ years of related coding and/or billing experience Bachelor Degree preferred but not required CPC and/or other similarly applicable accredited certification Advanced knowledge of current standing billing practices as defined by AMA and CMS. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Highly motivated and organized Advanced computer skills with high proficiency in all applicable software applications.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
