Job Duties Specialize in the administration of medications, fluids, and blood through injections into patients' veins using multiple access methods. Conduct direct and indirect age-appropriate patient assessments. Develop and implement patient care plans.
Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as needed. Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients/families in care planning. Report patient status to physicians and obtain necessary care orders.
Provide age-appropriate patient and family education. Accommodate individual learning needs of patients. Educate and mentor students, novice nurses, and peers.
