SNA’s are dependent members of the healthcare team who must be supervised by an RN or other licensed professionals. Health - related activities and non-nursing tasks can be assigned to SNA’s. The SNA works under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

The Student Nursing Assistant (SNA) role is designed for second, third and fourth semester PCON students. Students in the PCH role will automatically be advanced into the Student Nursing Assistant role upon the completion of their second semester (students in the PCON 18 mo. program will transition in the month of September). If a student wishes to advance from the PCH role into the Student Nursing Assistant role after the first semester /term, they must obtain a letter of recommendation from a clinical instructor and complete the nursing assistant test in human resources.

Students that have completed their first semester /term may apply for a student nursing assistant position provided they have a letter of recommendation from their clinical instructor.
