This is a Student Nurse Technician (SNT) role designed for currently enrolled nursing students to gain hands-on clinical experience while functioning primarily in a Patient Care Technician (PCT) capacity. Responsibilities include direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting basic clinical procedures, with additional involvement in reinforcing patient education and collaborating closely with nursing staff.
Position Highlights:Enrollment in an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program required. Completion of at least one (1) semester of fundamentals with a medical-surgical clinical component required. Role PurposeProvides multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This job requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health. ResponsibilitiesAssists nurse with patient and family education.
Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary. Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team. Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse. Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
