You’ll need
Certifications
✓6 years of clinical laboratory experience post-training if certified as an Histotechnician or 5 years of clinical laboratory experience post-training if certified as a Histotechnologist.
✓American Society Clinical Pathology Histotechnician (HT)or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification required.
✓American Society for Clinical Pathology
Education
✓Successful completion of NAACLS accredited HT program OR Associate's degree OR 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/ university with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry OR Bachelor's degree with a combination of 30 semester hours

About the role
Provide supervision of Histology and Immunohistochemistry laboratories through managing, planning, servicing, organizing and controlling the activities of personnel engaged in the handling and processing tissue cassettes and slides and in the generation of timely and accurate results. Direct all activities in accordance with the express standards of accrediting agencies, the Medical Director and UPMC health system.
