Assists department leadership with staffing, interviewing, orientation, training, coaching, mentoring, and competency assessment. Coordinates and facilitates the clinical experience of students in affiliated education programs. Participates in various committees or teams and assists with special projects as assigned.

Ensures department workspaces are maintained in a neat, organized, and properly supplied manner, and oversees post-analytical activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to ensure departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements [Required]Exhibits technical skills and aptitudes related to specific laboratory specimen collections as performed in department or work area assigned. [Required]Displays the ability to comprehend, measure, reason, match, problem solve, and exercise judgment under minimal supervision. [Required]Exhibits ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities and projects. [Required]Able to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in English with patients, staff, and customers of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective, and professional manner. [Required]Exercises mature, independent judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within Hospital guidelines and applicable regulations. [Required]Builds and maintains effective, productive teams and appropriate peer relationships to facilitate organizational objectives. [Required]Ability to utilize standard computer related applications, and ability to learn and apply new applications and programs. [Required]Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English. [Required]Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]• Ability to provide daily direction to phlebotomists and other support staff. [Required]Up-to-date phlebotomy practice knowledge in order to appropriately evaluate effectiveness and identify factors that may impact desired outcomes. [Required]Ability to maintain records and prepare reports/correspondence related to phlebotomy services. [Required]Ability to address phlebotomy complaints and escalate through established channels, as needed. [Required]Education:Associate [Preferred]High School Grad or Equiv [Required]Work
