Certifications
✓Certified individuals must comply with continuing education requirements established by their credentialing organization.
✓Non-certified individuals must complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years.
✓Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required based on AHA standards, including both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
✓Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC)
✓Certification Details
✓Staff employed as Surgical Technologists on or before December 27, 2020, or employed as Surgical Technologists at another healthcare facility for two years prior to December 27, 2020, are grandfathered and not required to obtain certification.
Qualifications
✓Act 34 Clearance
✓The certification exception described above may apply when sufficient qualified candidates are unavailable despite documented recruitment efforts.
1-2 years of Operating Room experience preferred
Orthopaedic surgery experience strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety preferred
Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills preferred

As a Surgical Technologist, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional surgical care by: preferred
Preparing and maintaining sterile fields, instruments, and surgical equipment preferred
Assisting surgeons and the surgical team during orthopaedic procedures preferred
Anticipating surgeon needs and efficiently passing instruments and supplies preferred
Supporting patient safety through meticulous counting and sterile technique practices preferred
Assisting with specimen handling, medication labeling, and surgical dressings preferred
