You’ll need
Certifications
✓CST or TSC certification required per state law
✓New grads may work up to 6 months prior to certification but must become certified within 6 months of program completion
✓Some staff may be grandfathered and exempt from certification requirements
✓Certified staff must meet credentialing CE requirements
✓Non-certified staff must complete 30 CE hours every 2 years
✓CPR/BLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire

What you’ll do
Prepare and maintain aPrepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment
Set up, operate, andSet up, operate, and ensure proper function of surgical instruments and equipment
Assist surgeons during proceduresAssist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, handling supplies, and maintaining counts
Handle specimens, apply dressingsHandle specimens, apply dressings, and assist with patient preparation and positioning
