Days The System Director of Compensation is responsible for the design, execution and leadership for broad based and executive compensation Total Rewards programs aligned with the mission, core values, business objectives and culture of the ministry that delivers market competitive, stewardship minded and just programs that are forward thinking, simple, scalable, and understandable. Responsible for leadership of a centralized team of compensation professionals to ensure that wages and incentive pay are leveraged and in line with the ministry’s compensation philosophy and practices to cost-effectively attract and retain associates in both unionized and non-union environments.
Develop compensation programs, policies and plans for all levels of the organization (executive, management and staff). Counsel senior leaders on pay decisions, compensation practices, and policy and guidelines interpretation. Guide the decision-making process and final outcome by providing detailed analysis/models, innovative recommendations, and expert advice to management and HR executives.
Educate and coach management regarding System compensation philosophy, salary structures, market analysis, merit and bonus processes. Partner with HR Communications to develop key employee messaging on compensation topics. Oversee annual implementation and administration of compensation programs and systems including merit, market and equity analysis, recommendations and adjustments, short- and long-term variable compensation.
Ensures data integrity within data management and reporting. Lead cross-functional workgroups driving solutions that impact associate pay including mergers and acquisitions, system-wide cost-saving initiatives, audit findings, compensation program system development, integration and implementation. Partner with the Human Resources Compensation Committee independent consultant regarding compensation plans and programs requiring Committee review and approval.
Support the development of materials for presentation to the Committee. In collaboration with Legal, Accounting, Tax, Internal Audit and third-party administrators, ensure accurate reporting, budgeting and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding compensation and related issues. Provide the support structure and expertise to ensure that union negotiations and bargaining are successful.
Lead the system Compensation team by mentoring, establishing short and long-range team goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures. Set priorities and optimize resources to accomplish the ministry’s goals and objectives.
Minimum
Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Management or Accounting. MBA or MHR preferred Minimum Certification
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). PHR or SPHR preferred Minimum
- 10+ years of progressive compensation experience, including healthcare compensation experience Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
