The Transporter provides safe, reliable, and courteous transportation to patients throughout the medical complex. The employee will receive training and must demonstrate competency in moving of patients, including neonatal, pediatric (birth - 11 years), adolescents (12 - 17 years), adults (18 - 65 years), and geriatric (66 years and older). The Transporter must be knowledgeable of department/hospital policies and procedures.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure and Certification)
• High school diploma or GED/ equivalent (required)
- Prior hospital transport experience (preferred) Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required) Job Competency: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities critical to this role:
- Identifies patient’s physical and emotional conditions and needs and adapts patient care (i.e. dressing, lifting, moving, monitoring for comfort and safety) accordingly
- Ability to recognize change in patient status and report appropriate information to nursing

- Ability to adapt communication style to meet specific individual patient needs
