Unit Secretary - Labor And Delivery

The Unit Secretary is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care and assists with departmental organizational activities. Facilitates the communication needs of the department. Enters and transcribes physician orders from records (in the absence of CPOE) with notation and signature by nursing staff.

Prepares and compiles records in the Perinatal Unit. Completes log book entries as needed. Contacts physician offices, patients and other departments as needed to facilitate patient care in the department.
