✓Registered Nurse (MS) - MS Board of Nursing
Education
✓o Those selected will complete the Preceptor Class during first year of employment. Upon completion of preceptor course and validation of competencies, serves as resource and/or preceptor for existing staff.
✓Associate’s Degree | Nursing | Required
Qualifications
✓Has opportunity to be selected to participates in Preceptor Program
✓o Serves as a Preceptor to ensure proper training of new employees.
✓o Serves as a Preceptor for nursing students to support their knowledge base and development of clinical skills, as well as critical decision making.
✓o Assists in training new Preceptors and validating new Preceptors’s competencies.
✓Must possess strong computer skills required for data entry and retrieval of information
✓Must be proficient with Windows-style applications
✓Must have effective communication and teaching skills
✓Must have general knowledge of various regulatory and accrediting standards
✓Prioritizes/delegates/evaluates work assignments
✓Anticipates resources needed
✓Assimilates data and reports appropriately
✓Orients new employees to the unit and reports progress to nurse manager
✓The incumbent has routine contact with physicians, ancillary personnel, other nursing personnel, patients, family, visitors.
✓The incumbent must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to all customers/co-workers, and in all aspects of patient care and job performance.
