Hourly range: $48.14 – $61.89 (based on experience) Key Responsibilities
Perform histological procedures including routine staining, special stains, and immunohistochemistry
Follow laboratory pre-analytic and analytic testing procedures
Maintain quality control, calibration, and equipment maintenance records
Document and troubleshoot laboratory testing issues and corrective actions
Ensure accuracy and quality throughout all phases of testing
Communicate critical values and maintain STAT turnaround time requirements
Participate in proficiency testing, audits, inspections, and regulatory readiness activities
Evaluate test results and verify abnormalities according to established protocols
Assist with validations, competency assessments, and staff training activities
Maintain inventory, lot number tracking, expiration monitoring, and quality control documentation
Support CAP, NYSDOH, AABB, and Joint Commission compliance requirements Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Required)
New York State Histotechnologist License (Required)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced laboratory environment
