Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics or a related field from an accredited instituation AND a Registered Dietician(RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Credential. Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30 PM IMPORTANT Once contract staff are on board, their shifts do not remain static. During training, they will follow a Day shift 5x8s Mon-Friday.

Training lasts 4 weeks. Once training is over, they may start in the shift they are hired for, however that shift may change as needs must be met. All compliance documents must be submitted and cleared by the facility 2 weeks prior to start date to start on time.

Orientation is held every other Thursday. If your candidate is not cleared by 2 weeks prior to the start date, they will either be cancelled or pushed to the next orientation date. NY License in hand required along with Diploma, and NPI Medicaid number.

BLS certifications can only come through the American Heart Association. HPC does not provide BLS certification. Hutchings Psychiatric Center (HPC) is accredited by The Joint Commission and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

HPC provides inpatient and outpatient services to both adult and children’s population. For the acute population, our focus is to stabilize acute psychosis, major depression, anxiety, and schizoaffective episodes within a 2-3-week period. Once a patient is stable and is no longer a danger to themselves or others, a person will return to the community to the appropriate level of care.

For patients that have long-standing psychiatric impairments and decreased functional levels, the focus of care is rehabilitative & skill building to enable them to return to community living. Perform comprehensive nutrition screenings and assessments. Develop and implement individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy(MNT) plans.

Document nutrition assessments, interventions, and outcomes within the electronic medical record. Provide nutrition groups, education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers. Participate in facility-wide and departmental Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.

Participate in multidisciplinary patient care rounds and departmental meetings. Support staff development initiatives and contribute to improved clinical outcomes. Complete Swallowing Screen as needed.
