Under supervision of the section supervisor, performs routine and specialized tests in clinical or pathology laboratory section in a timely manner according to UHS, Hospitals’, Infection Control, Laboratory and Departmental Policies and Procedures, NYSDOH, CDC Blood and Body Fluids policies and procedures. Priority is given to STAT testing and to tests that require immediate processing. Education/ExperienceMinimum Required:Associate degree in clinical laboratory technology or equivalent (NYS Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician).
Preferred:One (1) year of clinical laboratory experience. License/CertificationMinimum Required:NYS Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician. Must possess a valid & active Driver's License.
Point of Care Technician across all facilities and clinicsValid drivers license is preferred Work EnvironmentMost work is performed in heated and air conditioned surroundings. Ability to lift 25 pounds, walking reaching, standing and sitting. When performing laboratory testing, eyewear, gloves, masks/face shields must be worn according to NYS Dept. of Health, and UHSH Infection Control, and CDC Blood and Body Fluids Policies and Procedures.
