Routinely performs the duties of a Medical Technologist as well as the Functions of the section supervisor. Maintaining SOPMs and instrumentation, supervising staff training and competencies, maintains overall operations of their assigned section including ordering, maintenance, quality control, completing performance evaluations, initiating disciplinary actions, scheduling as needed. As requested takes on the duties of the department manager.

Regular and recurrent exposure to reagents, infectious materials, patient and patient specimens and mechanical devices. Extensive handling of blood and body fluids. Category I for exposure to blood borne pathogens.
Close visual attention and acuity are required as well as intermittent standing and walking.
