W. W. Hastings Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide comprehensive labor and delivery services.
The midwife will primarily provide 24-hour in-house coverage, managing uncomplicated vaginal deliveries and providing triage, admissions, patient education, and postpartum discharge services. Key
Provide 24-hour in-house labor and delivery coverage. Triage and assess patients presenting for labor and other obstetric concerns. Admit patients and manage care throughout labor and delivery.
Perform and manage uncomplicated vaginal deliveries. Complete discharges for patients who have not undergone cesarean section. Identify high-risk pregnancies and recognize patients requiring physician consultation.
Consult and collaborate with physicians regarding complicated obstetric cases. Provide emotional support, education, and guidance to patients and families before, during, and after labor. Educate patients regarding antenatal care, reproductive health, and pregnancy-related needs.
Support Women's Clinic patient care when needed; however, this is not the primary responsibility of the position. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team. Patient Volume:Approximately 5–6 births per day currently.
Patient volume is anticipated to increase with the new hospital in the coming months. Schedule DetailsApproximately 7 twenty-four-hour shifts per month. Weekend coverage may occasionally include Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, but weekend assignments are not consistent.
Weekends may also be covered by locum providers or full-time Family Practice providers. Post-call time off is provided after each 24-hour shift. Two consecutive 24-hour shifts may be scheduled as long as there are at least 24 hours between shifts.
