Contract details

Under the direction of the medical providers, this position’s primary function is to schedule surgical procedures. The responsibilities of the Surgical Scheduler include: scheduling surgical procedure in ORSOS, scheduling all pre- and post-operative appointments and obtaining authorization. The Surgical Scheduler works closely with the clinical team, medical providers and hospital staff to provide timely care for our patients.

Education/ExperienceMinimum Required:High School Graduate or equivalentTwo (2) years' experience working in healthcare OR Two (2) years' experience working in customer serviceProficient PC skillsKnowledge of Medical TerminologyPreferred:AAS in an accredited MOA program or equivalentKnowledge of insurance referral processBasic computer skills; HER, Excel, Microsoft OfficePrevious experience in OR SchedulingLicense/CertificationPreferred:Current drivers license Work EnvironmentWork is performed in an office environment that requires working in proximity to other employees and patients.

The office is air conditioned as well as heated. Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants is possible. Fast-paced environment including frequent interruptions.

Frequent sitting, walking, standing and bending. Possibility of transporting of patients. Mobility may include access through a multi-level facility, including climbing stairs.
