REQUIRED ON ALL DARTMOUTH JOBS (NURSING AND ALLIED) All travelers must have 1 year of Level I Trauma experience within the last three years in a hospital with 300+ beds - Bill 36 bed adult surgical unit that cares primarily for trauma patients and acute care surgical patients. This unit does have 2 negative pressure rooms that can serve our COVID population. This is a very busy unit where rehabilitating and supporting our patients needs is our highest priority.
The most common diagnosis on the unit; Traumas including: spinal cord injuries(new quadriplegics and paraplegics), traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic injuries occurring as a result of a trauma. Acute Care Surgical diagnosis: hernia repair, small bowel obstructions, appendectomy, cholecystectomy. Travelers need to have experience on a fast pace medical surgical unit preferably with Level I Trauma center experience but serval years at a Level II Trauma center is acceptable.
