Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position. OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY Ideally a candidate with wound care background or surgery background but open to training a candidateWill see approximately 12-18 patients a day Perform comprehensive inpatient assessments of patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomies, and incontinenceDevelop and implement evidence-based wound care treatment plans, including ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, medications, dressings, and devicesProvide wound debridement, negative pressure wound therapy, biopsies, and other procedures as indicatedMonitor and evaluate patient progress and response to treatmentEducate patients, families, and caregivers on wound prevention, management, and self-careDocument patient encounters and interventions in the electronic medical recordCommunicate effectively with other members of the health care teamParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activitiesHyperbaric chamber experience preferred, training is available if needed.

QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s degree or higher in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited programCurrent Illinois license as a nurse practitioner or physician assistantCertification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)Minimum of two years of experience as an APP in primary care or a related field is preferredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationsProficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systemsOSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
