BSS positions offer a 10% incentive as well as any applicable shift differentials for overnights and weekends! Banner Staffing Services (BSS) offers Registry/Per Diem opportunities within Banner Health. Registry/Per Diem positions are utilized as needed within our facilities.

This position coordinates the staffing on most/all PCS units within the facility. Inputs the RN, LPN, CNA, BA, TECH’s schedules into our database and accurately maintains it. Is responsible for knowing and adhering to the PCS staffing guidelines and staffing policies.
Is the primary source of staffing information for the charge nurses on the individual units. Is responsible for collection of data and creating reports to be used by the Administrative Team. Responsible to assist the leadership with the High Census Meetings and to take the lead in times of staffing crisis’s.
Assists leadership with fiscal responsibility, by placing the most cost effective staff on the floors and by insuring that the floors are not over or understaffed, on a shift by shift basis. CORE FUNCTIONS1. Coordinates staffing functions for the nursing department including RN’s, LPN’s, CNA’s, Tech’s and clerical support.
This includes, but not limited to, developing computerized work schedules; anticipating needs on a weekly basis and scheduling extra staff as needed; adjusting shift-to-shift staffing based on census, utilizing established staffing guidelines to assure the most cost-effective, quality staffing is used; maintaining computerized staffing database as well as computerized cancel hours database.2. Performs office management and clerical services for the Nursing Department as well as other Patient Care Services Departments.
This includes, but is not limited to, answering, providing information and screening telephone calls; typing, copying and distribution of a variety of materials; generating various reports from the computerized staffing system; provides backup for Surgical Services regarding emergency surgeries and scheduling surgeries during off hours. This office also provides services such as Lost & Found, processing/storing patient valuables, processing of patient questionnaires.3.
Serves as the centralized information resource when emergencies or disasters for Team C as designated in the Emergency Preparedness Manual.4. Facility based position with hospital-wide impact on patient throughput. Efficiently balances requests with available resources under tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. The position also requires skills and abilities typically gained with 1 year of experience in a healthcare office setting, previous experience in patient services or admitting would be very helpful. Must have medical terminology, excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and critical thinking skills.
Must have the ability to work under tight time constraints and meet deadlines while working on a variety of projects. Must be proficient with commonly used office software and equipment.
