What We OfferCertified Medical Assistant - Cardiology Clinic We are seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Heart & Vascular Institute - Elizabeth team. This role plays an essential part in supporting our providers, delivering high-quality patient care, and ensuring efficient clinical operations within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Prepare patients for cardiac and vascular appointments by obtaining vitals, performing EKGs, and updating medical historiesClinical Support and TestingKeep patients informed about their visit, testing processes, and next steps for careEmbody the Novant Health human experience by delivering kindness, empathy, and professionalism in every encounterPartner closely with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, nurses, and sonographers to deliver coordinated care What We're Looking ForEducation: High School Diploma or GED, required.Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:
  • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
  • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.

Previous work in a medical office, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
