Integrated Spine is a newly integrated inpatient spine unit that consolidates neurologic and orthopedic spine patients into one location. This allows for high-quality, standardized care for all patients regardless of surgeon specialty. This unit is the newest addition to the surgical services team and provides an opportunity for nurses to help build this unique unit.
Nurses on this unit will become adept in both the neurologic and orthopedic realms of nursing as they will care for patients who undergo a wide variety of surgical procedures. We specialize in treatment of degenerative spine conditions, traumatic spinal injuries, complex spinal reconstructive surgeries, spinal tumors, and spinal revision surgeries. Role PurposeCreates and implement staff education and professional development activities and programs that optimize patient outcomes. ResponsibilitiesAssesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ongoing educational and professional development activities and programs for clinical and non-clinical areas. Collaborates with staff and representatives of other organizations to develop, present and or evaluate clinically focused training, continuing education and or professional development opportunities.
Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Collaborates with leadership to assess the educational needs of the staff and develops appropriate education plan. Participates in professional development and life long learning.
