Responds to the needs of organ donor families by developing and implementing appropriate after-care services, including grief counseling and bereavement support; by coordinating projects, programs and special events that promote the donor families' experiences; and by facilitating communication between donor families and transplant recipients. Collaborates on other LifeQuest and donor program development department projects and campaigns as needed. Must demonstrate ability to work independently, find creative solutions to problems and develop innovative ideas. ResponsibilitiesPlan, implement and evaluate projects, special events, and other activities for donor families.Coordinate after-care communication to families and between families and recipients.Engage and/or debrief with clinical coordinators, donation advocates and HSCs regarding family issuesSupport overall objectives of donor program development QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, health sciences, social work or other related fieldTwo years of case management, social work, hospice, grief counseling or related experience; ORTwo years of donor family after care experience within an organ procurement organization (OPO), tissue bank or eye bank. Must have exceptional writing, proofreading, communications, critical thinking and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills required. Licensure/Certification/Registration: None Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
