Financial Applications Analyst

✓Requirements
Certifications
o HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), AAHAM Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS), CPHIMS, or CHDA (for reporting-intensive seats). preferred
Education
✓o Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant healthcare revenue cycle and MEDITECH experience.
o Master's degree in a related field preferred
Qualifications
✓o Hands-on MEDITECH EXPANSE experience in revenue cycle and/or financial applications (Patient Accounting/BAR, Patient Access/ADM, ARM, ABS, GL), obtained through implementation, optimization, or production support in a live Expanse environment.
✓o Hands-on MEDITECH Client/Server experience in the same module set, sufficient to support the current production environment through migration.
✓o Healthcare provider revenue cycle experience in a hospital Central Business Office, patient accounting, or patient access setting.
✓o Experience eliciting business requirements, documenting workflows, and developing and executing test scripts.
✓o Experience producing project artifacts, including status reports, business requirements, and non-technical design documents.
✓MEDITECH applications (required proficiency in both Client/Server and Expanse):
✓o ADM / Patient Access — centralized admissions, insurance verification for out-of-state payers
✓o ARM — authorization and referral tracking for long-stay patients
✓o BAR / Patient Accounting — interim billing, contract management, per diem and case-rate reimbursement
✓o ABS / Case Mix — LTACH and rehabilitation grouping; 3M/Solventum integration
✓o GL — multi-entity general ledger
✓o ITS — therapy charge capture and reconciliation
✓o EMR — financial content
✓o NPR Report Writer (Client/Server); Report Designer and Data Repository (Expanse)
✓o Ability to translate between finance/CBO terminology and technical configuration; facilitation of cross-functional stakeholder groups; strong issue tracking and follow-through; ability to teach system functionality to end users.
✓Must pass a criminal background check on an annual basis.
✓Travel to Nexus Health Systems facilities in Houston, Shenandoah, The Woodlands, Conroe, Dallas, and San Antonio as required; onsite presence at all campuses during Expanse testing, cutover, and go-live events.
✓Familiarity with the Nexus ticketing system and internal platforms expected within 90 days of hire.
o Participation in a MEDITECH Client/Server or MAGIC to Expanse migration, including financial dictionary mapping, data conversion validation, integrated testing, and report conversion. preferred
o Long-length-of-stay inpatient and residential billing experience: interim billing, continued-stay authorization, per diem and case-rate contracts, pediatric Medicaid and Medicaid managed care, out-of-state Medicaid, workers' compensation. preferred
o Multi-facility, multi-entity MEDITECH configuration. preferred
o Post-acute, LTACH, pediatric specialty hospital, or residential treatment center experience. preferred
