Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a medical provider – physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner – in the medical office setting.
Responsibilities of the role include: Clinical Functions:Administrative Functions:·Taking patients to rooms·Greeting patients·Obtaining vital signs·Scheduling appointments·Performing phlebotomy·Answering phones·Obtaining lab specimens·Clerical & computer work·Adhering to safety and infection guidelines ·Faxing·Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR)·Disability & Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) paperwork QualificationsNo experience required.
