ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent initiates and implements laboratory tests needed to provide the physician with sufficient information to make sound judgments in maintaining the patient’s health care regimen. The incumbent performs chemical, bacteriological, serological and microscopic procedures in one or more functional laboratory sections and may be required to provide oversight for the all clinical functions in the laboratory to remain compliant with all internal and external regulatory agencies.

Maintains working capabilities and competencies to perform in all areas of the laboratory. Maintains records of performance as defined in the laboratory’s policy and procedure manual. QualificationsRequired for Medical Laboratory Technician:DiplomaMedical Laboratory Technician (MLT license) within 9 months of hire.

Required for Medical Laboratory Scientist:Bachelor’s degreeOne of: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Molecular Biology (MB), Specialist in Microbiology (SM), or Technologist in Microbiology (M) within 9 months of hire.
