✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required.
Certifications
✓Current CPR training required.
✓Current ACLS obtained within 6 months of being in the department for critical care, Labor and Delivery and Antepartum areas.
✓Current NPR training obtained within 6 months of being in the department is required for the following areas: Mother/Baby, Well Baby Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and Antepartum.
✓Current PALS training obtained within 6 months of being in the department is required for the following areas: Ambulatory Surgical Unit, Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology, Emergency, Endoscopy, Operating Room, Recovery and Urgent Care.
✓Obtainment of the Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC), Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML), Nurse Executive (NE-BC) certification or an approved nursing certification in specialty area is required within 3 years of being in the position.
Education
✓Bachelor degree in Nursing is required.

✓Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.

About the role

Under the direction and supervision of the Nursing Director, supervises all departmental Associates and the functions of the clinical units. Assists with or conducts delegated projects, performs managerial responsibilities as delegated by the Director, including supervision and evaluation of patient care and all department Associates. Assumes responsibility for clinical resources and coordinates preceptor activities.
