Variable The Registered Professional Nurse provides and coordinates comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The RN assesses patient needs, develops and implements nursing interventions, evaluates outcomes, and collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team throughout the care process. ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesAssesses patients and identifies actual and potential health concerns.

Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing interventions and plans of care. Involves patients, families, and significant others in care planning and decision-making whenever possible. Supervises and directs care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.

Assigns and delegates care to qualified members of the healthcare team. Coordinates patient care across professional disciplines. Advocates for patients and promotes safe, compassionate, and individualized care.

Participates in unit-based activities that support a positive and professional work environment. Demonstrates autonomous and accountable nursing practice while promoting teamwork, trust, and collaboration.
